I once wanted to explore the question: What holds us back? We all have wishes and ideas to improve our lives and the lives of others. Things we want to change or create anew. Ideas that resonate so strongly within us that we feel like bursting if we don't bring them to fruition.
The (pre)joy we feel is just a fraction of what this idea can create. We sense it energetically in the form of excitement, joy, butterflies in the stomach, and so on... Somewhere within us, we know that this idea has the potential to create something magnificent.
So, what stops us from implementing these ideas?
Fear of Failure? (What if it doesn't work out?)
Lack of Self-Worth? (I can't do that.)
Financial Concerns? (I can't afford it.)
Worrying About Others' Opinions? (What will they think?)
Fear of Making Mistakes? (What if I do something wrong?)
Self-Doubt? (I don't know how.)
These thoughts race through our minds like a high-speed train, and we find ourselves trapped in a small, narrow universe where nothing new seems possible. It's exhausting and frustrating. It drains us of energy, leaving us feeling small, incapable, and useless.
All these points have one thing in common:
Fear
Fear of not being good enough, fear of failing, fear of financial issues, and fear of others' opinions.
But what if we stopped giving room to these fears? What if we didn't care about what others think and just followed our feelings to create what makes us happy? After all, it's not the neighbor who makes us happy or lives our life. It's you and me. Everyone is responsible for their own happiness. So, why do we live as if others' opinions matter so much?
The same applies to the fear of failure. What does it mean to fail? According to the dictionary, it's "not being able to achieve what is expected." Whose expectations are we talking about? If they are others', then why should we care? People in our circle should support us regardless of what we pursue. If not, they can keep their opinions to themselves. Such people are not an asset to our lives.
But what if it's our own expectations? We are champions in setting high expectations before even starting something. Our brains decide the outcome, the money we'll make, and how everything should be done. Expectations and more expectations.
Our intellect leaves no room for magic.
Don't get me wrong, structure and planning are important. But overthinking and high expectations lead to fears that prevent us from creating something new. We kill the idea before it even starts.
Approaching a new project without expectations keeps all possibilities open. We create out of joy and positivity, regardless of the outcome. And often, the result is much bigger and better than we ever imagined.
Finally, let's talk about financial aspects. How often have we said, "I'll do this when I have the money"? These are just excuses to avoid creating something new. We feel comfortable in our small, narrow comfort zones, which give us a false sense of security. It's a bit uncomfortable, but at least we know it.
Yes, money is often needed to bring a project to life. But instead of waiting, ask yourself, "If I had all the money I needed, what would I choose?" If the answer brings lightness and joy, then money is just an excuse. The energy and resonance you feel towards the project show that something great can come from it.
Next, ask yourself how much money you have and need to start. Even if it's just $200, you can make business cards, advertise your service, and gain paying customers. With more money, you can advertise in newspapers or magazines or create a professional website. Sometimes, you can negotiate installment payments, but you have to talk to people and ask. It only works if you step out of your comfort zone. It may not happen overnight, but...
Where there is a will, there is a way!
That's what my granny used to say.
The most important thing is to decide for yourself every day. That is my goal.
I will be all that I can be, do all that I can do, at any cost, and never give up!
